Wall to Wall Kitchen & Bath, a Prospering Family Business

For father-and-son duo Bob and Rob Wall, turning their love for woodworking into a successful business was more than just a leap of faith—it was the culmination of shared passion, hard work, and a few unexpected turns.

Bob Wall, a lifelong woodworking hobbyist, had envisioned a peaceful retirement, tinkering in his workshop. But when his son, Rob, a certified Wood Process Technician with over a decade of experience, suggested they start a business together, everything changed. “I thought I’d be puttering around in my shop,” Bob admitted with a laugh, “but working full time with Rob has been a lot of fun.”

From a Crowded Garage to a Thriving Cabinet Shop

The business officially began in 2009, operating out of Bob’s two-car garage. At first, they used Bob’s personal woodworking equipment. Space was tight, but their fortunes quickly turned when a well-known local designer began sending them projects. “We weren’t quite ready, but we made it work,” Rob said. Before long, word of their high-quality work spread, and the business began to grow rapidly through word-of-mouth recommendations.

The garage soon became too small for their needs. Within a year, Bob and Rob moved into a 2,400 sq. ft. shop and hired two employees. “Good installation is key,” Bob emphasized, giving credit to their installer, Jason Bailey, who became a crucial part of their team. The business offered everything from custom kitchens to finely crafted shaker-style furniture, which Rob describes as, “high-quality pieces meant to last generations.”

Embracing Technology: The Life-Changing CNC Upgrade

In 2012, the business hit another pivotal moment. Their old panel saw had become unreliable, and they knew they needed a better solution to keep up with demand. They attended the AWFS Fair in Las Vegas, where they discovered the C.R. Onsrud Mate 4×8 CNC router. “We hadn’t considered CNC because of the cost,” Bob explained, “but after seeing it in action, it was a no-brainer.”

The CNC machine, paired with a vacuum lift, transformed their operations. "It was life-changing for us," Rob said. “We could handle more complex jobs faster, with greater precision, and the repeatability was incredible.” The new technology enabled them to take on bigger projects and boosted their efficiency so much that they soon had to consider expanding their shop again.

Building a Business on Family, Passion, and Hard Work

Despite the long hours and occasional challenges, neither Bob nor Rob has any regrets. "We really love what we do," Rob shared, reflecting on how far they’ve come. With their growing team, advanced technology, and a reputation for delivering high-quality, custom cabinetry, Wall to Wall Kitchen & Bath continues to thrive.

“We’ve built this business on our shared love of woodworking, and it feels good to be in business together as a family,” Rob said. Looking forward, they see continued growth on the horizon, driven by their dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.
