Matt opened Trademark Mill in 1996, initially building custom staircases. By 2005, they had automated with their first CNC machine, and by 2006, they had purchased Microvellum, expanding into cabinets and fixtures. They served clients with custom projects, including courtroom and restaurant builders. This is where Matt gained experience using Microvellum and learning its capabilities.
As time progressed, Matt became an Account Manager at Microvellum. In this role, he is tasked with helping others harness the full potential of Microvellum's software, sharing his experience, and helping clients optimize their operations.
"I enjoy visiting shops, identifying their problems and bottlenecks, and working with the owners to overcome and fix them. Whether it's about different equipment, software, or the tools they need to use, I love watching them implement solutions and overcome challenges. It makes me feel like part of the solution rather than part of the problem."
As Matt has transitioned from business owner to consultant, and now to Account Manager, he has seen it all. He loves that Microvellum shows exactly what is going to happen, allowing him to draw a custom product and show customers how it will look. He appreciates the flexibility of Microvellum and that clients have the ability to expand with it.
If Matt could offer advice to a new user, it would be: "Don't try to eat the whole pie at once. Follow the advice from experts, and don't be afraid to engage with our service team where you're not comfortable."
His account management coverage includes Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming.
