Colin Bailey
Meet Colin Bailey, a Microvellum Service Provider located in England with over 20 years of experience in design for manufacturing industries. In addition to having a degree in art and design, Colin has also gained experience as a designer, drafter, engineer, and joiner. As an end-user of Microvellum software, Colin has worked on projects ranging from bespoke windows and doors, conservatories, pattern and molding making, residential and commercial kitchens, bedrooms, and high-end office fit outs.
In 2022, Colin joined the Microvellum’s UK team and accepted a position as a Service Provider, where he assists clients with their implementations and software training.
"I love learning, but sharing what I’ve learned brings me even more joy. Throughout my career, I've consistently trained and shared my skills with others. Working at Microvellum is an extension of this passion. Knowing that I've enhanced the work lives of those I've trained and seeing them utilize Microvellum Software to boost efficiency in their companies is incredibly satisfying."
As a member of Microvellum’s service team, Colin works to ensure the success of woodworking companies adopting Microvellum software for their design-to-manufacturing processes. He provides instruction related to CNC machine integrations, product engineering requirements, and product development. Additionally, he assists with customized reporting, testing, development of standard operating procedures, and other tasks related to setup and integration.
When asked about what advice he’d give to others just starting their Microvellum journey, Colin shared, “Invest time in learning Microvellum. It’s a powerful tool with a lot to learn, but the more effort you put in, the more you will save in the long run. Start by watching the training videos, and when you’re ready, seek advice from experts and schedule one-on-one training with someone on our service team. Break up your learning into bite-sized chunks and practice regularly. Don't limit yourself—let your imagination run wild to maximize the software's potential. The sooner you start using Microvellum for joinery, the sooner you'll see its benefits.”
